"Love is a many splendid thing love, lifts us up where we belong! All you need is love!"
"Momma always said it's a matter o' fact, that when love is in the house, the house is packed."
"Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver."
"Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails."
"Whoso loves, believes the impossible."
"I think we dream so we don't have to be apart so long. If we're in each others dreams, we can be together all the time."
"A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous."
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace."
"Love is what causes one to worry. Love is what gets one up each day. Love is what causes one to rush into traffic, merely to grab a purse, or a watch. Love is what causes one to unconditionally adore. Love is what causes one to smile. Love is what makes one feel warm inside when someone smiles back. Love is unconditional. Love is; lovely."

Not only for what you are
But for what I am
When I am with you "
"The love of our neighbor in all its fullness simply means being able to say, "What are you going through?""
"Where there is great love, there are always miracles."
"The little unremembered acts of kindness and love are the best parts of a person's life."
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion love actually is all around. "
So, after just watching Love Actually, I wanted to write on love. But really, my words can't be that great, compared with some of the other thoughts on love that abound in this world. So yeah. Happy wishes this Christmas season, I hope you can find love, whether it be in friends, family, or someone special.
Cheerio!

Thanks, Mike! I love your post on love. And I love you :-)
Hey Mikey,
This is a great post. Although I'd love to say that I always believe that love always wins, I can't. I guess we all have those times, you know?
But, I guess when I'm not in a funk, love is a very wonderful thing. Love is so sought after, that I feel like I've lost its meaning.
But love, like real love, is beautiful when you find it (not just the romantic kind, of course). I am reminded as ever, of a quote from Stardust that I always keep close to my heart:
"You know when I said I knew little about love? That wasn't true. I know a lot about love. I've seen it, centuries and centuries of it, and it was the only thing that made watching your world bearable. All those wars. Pain, lies, hate... It made me want to turn away and never look down again. But when I see the way that mankind loves... You could search to the furthest reaches of the universe and never find anything more beautiful. So yes, I know that love is unconditional. But I also know that it can be unpredictable, unexpected, uncontrollable, unbearable and strangely easy to mistake for loathing, and... What I'm trying to say, Tristan is... I think I love you. Is this love, Tristan? I never imagined I'd know it for myself. My heart... It feels like my chest can barely contain it. Like it's trying to escape because it doesn't belong to me anymore. It belongs to you. And if you wanted it, I'd wish for nothing in exchange - no gifts. No goods. No demonstrations of devotion. Nothing but knowing you loved me too. Just your heart, in exchange for mine."
That, to me, describes love. And describes why us humans are even in any way, at all, worthy or redeamble to be saved. Because when we love, like really love, its ferice.
I love you, Mikeh. You're awesome. Thanks for all the wonderful quotes. :]
